Wikis offer a way to manage information: a convenient place to collect
- contact information;
- links to save; and
- a place to share research.
For many, they function as a DIY homepage to organize material, reduce paper clutter and store it - easily accessible from any computer connected to the net. Itβs like a whiteboard β you can post active links β the kind you click on and they take you interesting places β using a wiki makes it possible and easy to get others to do it for you!
- What is a wiki? The oldest of second generation web technology - it goes back as far as 1995.
- Why wiki (what's in it for me (WIIFM))
- Practice: go here to edit and create without fear of messing up.
- Where can I get a wiki of my own?
- A white paper: that arguably accomplishes what I aim to do in a static, text-only, format
- Using Wikis for Online Collaboration (book review)
- trust building activities
